Three Channels. One True Colour.
Every ProfiLED bar mixes red at 620 nm, green at 520 nm and blue at 465 nm, with 8-bit control on each channel. Sixty pixels per meter means the colour changes along the bar, not only across the whole fixture.
Colour Mixing
What the three channels do
A ProfiLED bar carries red, green and blue emitters with dominant wavelengths of 620 nm, 520 nm and 465 nm. Mixing the three at different levels produces the colour you see, and the dominant wavelengths are what keep that mix consistent from one bar to the next.
Each channel is driven with 8-bit grayscale, so every channel has 256 steps. That is what makes slow fades look smooth instead of stepping between visible levels.
- 8-bit grayscale on each of the three channels
- Dominant wavelengths fixed at 620 nm, 520 nm and 465 nm
- Colour rendering index above 80, see High Brightness
Along the Bar
Colour that moves down the fixture
A conventional RGB fixture sets one colour for the whole body. ProfiLED addresses 60 pixels in every meter, so a gradient, a chase or a sweep can run along the bar while it is mounted.
That is also what lets a row of bars carry picture content rather than a flat wash. The detail is covered on Smooth Video Playback.
- 60 individually addressed pixels per meter
- Gradients and chases along a single bar
- Content designed in LED Strip Studio
FAQ
Vibrant RGB Output questions
Any mix of its red, green and blue channels. The dominant wavelengths are 620 nm, 520 nm and 465 nm, and each channel has 256 levels of 8-bit grayscale.
No. The bar is a three channel RGB fixture. White is mixed from the three channels rather than produced by a dedicated white emitter.
Yes. Each meter holds 60 individually addressed pixels, so a single bar can carry a gradient or a moving effect. More in ProfiLED Video Playback: 60 px/m, 8-bit.
