Powered Bulb Dimmer

Control 64 Dimmable Bulbs Like Pixels

Turn a differential WS2811-family SPI signal into 64 independently dimmable 12V or 24V outputs, powered directly from mains through the built-in power supply. Control marquee bulbs, festoon lights, LED strips, RGB/RGBW fixtures and other constant-voltage loads as easily as pixel LEDs — with smooth 2 kHz PWM and built-in power supply.

One controller. 64 outputs. No DMX dimmer rack.

What if every bulb could be a pixel?

Traditional marquee and decorative bulbs are usually controlled through relay packs or DMX dimmer systems. That works — but it means extra hardware, complicated wiring and limited channel density.

Powered Bulb Dimmer turns each bulb or lighting section into an individually controllable channel of your SPI pixel system.

Create chases, waves, fades and pixel-mapped effects using the same workflow you already use for addressable LEDs.

  • Powered Bulb Dimmer (12V or 24V version)
  • PowerCon Power Cable (plug per destination country)
  • 64x 2-Pole Terminal Block Plugs, 3.5mm pitch

Typical usage

Marquee & Bulb Installations

Control every bulb independently for chases, waves, fades and pixel effects.

Festoon & Event Lighting

Turn rows of conventional dimmable bulbs into dynamic, pixel-mapped lighting.

Theatre & TV

Smooth 8-bit PWM dimming designed for scenography, broadcast and camera environments.

LED Strip Sections

Independently dim short 12V/24V sections and combine them into RGB, RGBW or CCT fixtures.

Powered Bulb Dimmer

Built for Professional Lighting

64 independent channels

Every output is individually controlled with 8-bit PWM.

Built-in 12V / 24V power

85–264 VAC input and integrated 148 W power supply means no separate PSU is required.

Long-distance & daisy-chain ready

Differential SPI, RJ45 in/out and up to 48 units on one SPI line.

No Dimmer Rack, No Relay Packs

One box replaces the DMX dimmers and relay modules a bulb installation normally needs.

Same Workflow as Your LEDs

Design chases, waves and fades in LED Strip Studio or any WS2811 pixel tool. Nothing new to learn.

Flicker-Free on Camera

Smooth PWM dimming keeps fades clean for broadcast, TV studios and film sets.

Powered Bulb Dimmer

One Box Instead of a Dimmer Rack

Dimming banks of decorative or marquee bulbs individually usually means relay packs, DMX-to-relay converters, and a wall of separate channels to wire and label.

Problem
  • Multiple relay packs and dimmer modules
  • Complex DMX-to-relay wiring
  • Limited channels per device
  • No true pixel-level control over bulbs
Solution
  • 64 channels in a single unit
  • Direct SPI/WS2811 pixel control
  • Simple pluggable terminal wiring
  • Daisy-chain up to 48 units per line

Already using DMX?

You don't need to replace your DMX workflow.

Use an SPI LED Controller as the bridge between DMX and the Powered Bulb Dimmer. This lets a DMX console control the individual outputs while the Powered Bulb Dimmer handles the actual power and PWM dimming.

FAQ

Any controller with a differential 800kHz SPI (WS2811-family) output—including our own LEC3 and SPI Matrix. Controllers without a differential output, like the SPI LED Controller or Reactivo 2, need The Symmetrizer in between.

Yes, indirectly—pair it with an SPI LED Controller running in Pixel Mode (3 DMX channels per output) or SD Card Mode (7 DMX channels, playing back .LN2 files created in LED Strip Studio 3), configured from your DMX console.

Dimmable 12–24V constant-voltage fixtures: single-color LED bulbs, short LED strip sections, or grouped as CCT, RGB, or RGBW channels. Each output is open-drain, rated up to 500mA.

Up to 48 Powered Bulb Dimmers on a single SPI line for optimal frame rate. Need more? Use a controller with multiple SPI outputs—for example, LEC3 PRO's 4 outputs support 4×48 units.

Each channel is rated up to 500mA. Loaded evenly across all 64 channels, the 12V version delivers up to 190mA/channel (12.2A total) and the 24V version up to 95mA/channel (6.1A total).

Yes. 8-bit (256-level) grayscale at a 2kHz PWM frequency keeps dimming smooth and flicker-free on most video cameras—useful for broadcast, TV studio, and live-stream installations. Background in Pixel LED for Video Production Sets.

Powered Bulb Dimmer, a PowerCon power cable with the plug for your destination country, and 64x 2-pole terminal block plugs (3.5mm pitch).

Yes—ESD protection on both SPI ports and a self-resettable fuse on every output channel.
