No — a computer is only needed while you’re building the show, not while it’s running. LED Strip Studio 4 can export your finished animations and shows directly to an SD card that gets inserted into an LEC3, SPI Matrix, or Reactivo 2 controller. Once the card is loaded, the controller plays the content independently — with multi-device synchronization and scheduling — with nothing else connected.
This is the standard approach for permanent or semi-permanent installations where you don’t want a machine running continuously, or where you want the on-site operator to simply switch between pre-programmed scenes using the controller’s own buttons or a touchscreen (LSS4’s Live Control mode is built for exactly this — large, finger-friendly scene buttons on any Windows or macOS touchscreen).
A PC (or the LSS Remote app) only comes back into the picture if you need to build new content, trigger live/reactive effects, or route a live video feed to the installation in real time.
